Addons Universe for Minecraft - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Addons Universe collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our mobile application. We designed the App with privacy in mind and try to keep data collection to a minimum to provide you with the best experience.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Data You Provide to Us

When you register, log in, or interact with our App, we collect information that identifies you:

Account Information: When you log in (e.g., via Google Sign-In), we collect your email address, display name, user ID, and profile picture to create and manage your profile.
User-Generated Content: We collect text and content you submit intentionally, such as when you post a comment on addons or other content. Comments and your display name will be visible to other users.
Creator Portal Submissions: If you choose to submit content to be featured in the App using our Creator Portal, we collect and store:
- Account & Profile Information: Your Firebase Authentication credentials (including User ID, display name, profile picture, and registration email address) to authorize and manage your creator account.
- Project Metadata: Information you provide about your submissions, such as project titles, description texts, categories, licensing selections, tags, changelogs, source code URLs, and experimental feature flags.
- Uploaded Content & Media: Files and media you upload, including addon packages, behavior packs, resource packs, skin packs, or worlds/maps (including file extensions like .mcpack, .mcaddon, .mcworld, or .zip), as well as project cover photos and description images.
Communications: If you contact us directly at support@addonsuniverse.com or info@addonsuniverse.com, we retain the content of the emails, your email address, and our responses to assist with your inquiries.

B. Automatically Collected Data

Advertising Identifiers: We use the Google Advertising ID to serve ads and analyze their performance. This identifier does not reveal your name or email but identifies your device for ad-related purposes.
Usage Statistics and Interactions: Information about how you use the App, pages visited, addons downloaded, and features used.
Device Information: Such as your device hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and crash reports to help us find and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate, maintain, and provide the features of the App.
To authenticate users and secure accounts.
To display your profile name and image alongside your public comments within the App.
To evaluate and process content submissions sent by creators.
To analyze trends and errors to improve user experience.
To respond to your questions and provide customer support.

We process personal data based on legitimate interest to operate and improve the App and based on user consent when authentication or user-generated content is involved.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following situations:

With Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services to host our database, manage authentication, and track analytics and crash reporting.
Public Display: Your public profile name, picture, and any comments you post on addons or other content are visible to other users of the App.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

4. Third-Party Advertisements

Our App may feature third-party advertisements or links to external websites (for example, links from addon creators). When you click on third-party links or ads, you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

We may use third-party advertising services, such as Google AdMob, to display advertisements within the App. These services may collect information about your device and interactions with ads in order to provide personalized or contextual advertising.

To provide a personalized experience for users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, we implement a consent management mechanism in compliance with the Google EU User Consent Policy. You can manage your preferences at any time within the App settings.

The information collected may include:

When you access or use the Creator Portal, we use standard technologies to ensure its correct functioning and to analyze usage patterns:

Local Storage: We use your browser's local storage (localStorage) to save and remember your user preferences (such as dashboard layout preferences, administrator settings, and your cookie consent status). This data is stored locally on your device and does not contain personal identifying information.
Analytics: Subject to your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect information about how you interact with the Creator Portal (e.g., pages visited, clicks, and submission processes) to help us analyze and improve our services. You can grant or withdraw your consent for analytics tracking at any time through the consent prompt displayed on the portal.

6. Security of Your Information

We use standard security measures to protect the personal information submitted to us. However, please be aware that no security measure is 100% perfect, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our App is intended for a general audience. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us so we can take steps to remove such information and terminate the account.

8. Data Deletion and Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at support@addonsuniverse.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that certain data, such as public comments, may remain in our backups or active databases if required for legal compliance or moderation logs.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App or on our page.
